Venue

The AQM 2012-IUAPPA Regional Conference in Istanbul will be held at Istanbul Technical University (ITU) Ayazaga Campus, Suleyman Demirel Cultural Center (in picture). The Center is situated on the northwest of the Campus and nearby the Metro Station (ITU), it is the premier venue to welcome you for the Conference. The Campus is connected to the heart of the city (Taksim Area) by Metro within 8 stops and 18 minutes.

Objective

The objective of the 4th AIR QUALITY MANAGEMENT at URBAN, REGIONAL and GLOBAL SCALES is to bring those working in the field of management of air quality including scientists from universities, research organizations, government and industry together.

Historical

The 1st Int. Air Quality Management Symposium (AQM) was held on September 1997 in Istanbul by Istanbul Technical University (ITU) and Turkish National Committee for Air Pollution Research and Control (TUNCAP) as an exclusively remarkable scientific cornerstone in air pollution science in the region. The symposium book was published as a special issue of Environmental Research Forum by Trans Tech Publisher. The 2nd AQM Symposium; AQM2001 was held in 2001 in ITU. These selected papers through peer-reviewing process were published in a special issue of the Journal of Water & Soil Pollution: Focus by Kluwer in 2003. The 3rd AQM; AQM2005 was held in 2005 in ITU. The selected papers were published in the special issues of IJEP, Atmospheric Research and Environmental International in 2008 and 2009, respectively.

Young Researchers

A small fund to facilitate attandance of young researchers (younger than 35 years of age) is available. The evaluation is based on the scientific content, and is funded by WMO. Applicants should note for this award when submitting their abstracts.

Special Issues in Journals

Selected papers after peer-review process will be published in some journals such as Atmospheric Environment, The Science of the Total Environment, and some others.
